In America, a cookie is described as a thin, sweet, usually small cake. By definition, a cookie can be any of a variety of hand-held, flour-based sweet cakes, either crisp or soft.

General

Do you offer any other types of cookies?

Currently, Crust and Crumbs only offers the types of cookies that are listed on this website. We are working hard on adding new products such as sugar cookies, butter cookies, and granola. We are also developing dog biscuits for your favorite four-legged friends.

If you have a favorite cookie and you think we should offer it, let us know! We would be happy to start experimenting! Please note, however, that we do not make cookies containing peanuts or peanut products.

Are your cookies peanut-free?

Yes, all of our cookies are peanut-free. However, Crust and Crumbs Bakery shares cooking space with other chefs and bakers some of whom do use peanuts and peanut butter in their products. Thus, though our products are peanut-free we are not baking in a peanut-free environment. Also, please keep in mind that we use tree nuts in many of our products.

If I send you a recipe, can you make it for me?

Absolutely! Check out the page titled “Your Mom’s Cookies”. We are happy to take any cookie recipe you might have and take a stab at it. Send us the recipe and we will get back to you within 48 hours with pricing information and a timeline. Please be aware that we do not make cookies containing any peanuts or peanut products.

What type of ingredients do you use?

We use highly recommended, high quality ingredients because we think it makes a difference and that our customers are worth it!  We use: King Arthur Flour, Nielsen-Massey Vanilla and Guittard Chocolate. Crust and Crumbs Bakery is proud to be baking in the great state of Michigan and we are currently in the process of finding local sources for eggs, preserves and nuts

Shipping & Delivery

How long does it take to bake and ship my cookies?

We believe in sending you the freshest cookies possible – we do not freeze dough or send you last week’s cookies. Thus, we ship your cookies according to the "Order Today" box on our home page - check it so you know when to expect your cookies! All orders are shipped via US Postal Service Priority Mail (2 days to most places, 3 days maximum shipping time). If you would like your cookies to get to you faster, please contact us and we can discuss other shipping options.

Do you ship to APO addresses?

Yes, we do. However, please be aware that due to irregularity of APO shipments, it might take a little longer for your cookies to arrive.

Can I pick up my cookies?

Yes, you can! If you live in southeastern Michigan or happen to be making a trip to Ann Arbor, we are happy to arrange a time for you to stop by and pick up your cookies. Just let us know when you will be around!

Can I send your products as a gift to someone?

Definitely! Use the message box on the checkout page to include a message to the recipient. Also, please include your full name so that we can let the recipient know who was thinking of them! If it is for a special occasion or you have a special request, let us know and we will work with you to come up with a great gift solution.

Can you combine shipping for multiple items?

We use a special shipping calculation that allows for a discounted shipping fee, based on the number of items you order. Rest assured that you are getting the fairest shipping fees possible when you order from Crust and Crumbs Bakery! However, if items are going to recipients at different addresses please place separate orders. Unfortunately, Google checkout does not allow you to send items in your cart to different people.

When can I expect my order to arrive?

We ship all of our items via USPS Priority Mail. That means your order will arrive 2-3 days after we drop off the package. However, please allow a few extra days for preparation, as all of our products are freshly-baked to order.
